OVERVIEW

Mike Igel joined Trenam Kemker's Business Transactions Group in July 2008. Mike is a member of the Trenam Kemker Health Care Team, and concentrates his practice on the representation of hospitals and health systems, physician groups, pharmacies, home health agencies and other health care companies in a variety of regulatory, compliance and health care business matters. As the leader of Trenam Kemker’s Health Care Audit Defense Team, Mike has extensive experience in representing health care providers in defense of claims for overpayment by Medicare, Medicaid, and other third party payors.

Mike's practice also includes matter involving state and federal regulation of health care industries, physician-hospital joint ventures, health care provider overpayment audit defense, ambulatory surgery centers, hospital operations, mergers and acquisitions, medical staff bylaws, HIPAA compliance, clinical research, managed care contracts, and electronic medical records.
