Joe Garcia received the Alice B. Tompkins Community Service Award, Brandon’s highest honor, at a dinner in late May.  The Roundtable Charities of Greater Brandon, commonly known as the Presidents’ Roundtable, has been presenting the award since 1975.  The award is named after the onetime editor of The Brandon News who died in 1974.  It is awarded each year to a resident who duplicates Tompkins’ devotion to community service.

This is one of many honors that Joe has received for his work in our community.   Last year he received the National Silver Medallion Award from the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the highest recognition by that organization.
