Lori V. Vaughan is a Shareholder with Trenam Kemker and is a member of the firm’s Business Reorganization and Bankruptcy Practice Group. She joined the firm in 2007 after spending 8 years in the Business Reorganizations Group at Foley Lardner LLP. Prior to that, she served as judicial clerk to the Honorable Karen S. Jennemann, United States Bankruptcy Court, Middle District of Florida, in Orlando, Florida. Lori is a Board Certified Business Bankruptcy Attorney. She focuses her practice on bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and commercial litigation representing Chapter 11 debtors-in-possession, creditors committees, financial institutions, secured creditors and landlords in cases around the country.
Lori has lectured on topics such as Revised Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code, Landlord and Tenant Law in Bankruptcy and the Rights of Secured Creditors in Bankruptcy. She recently co-authored an article titled "Business Reorganizations After One Year of BAPCPA," which appeared in the publication Commercial Lending Review.
Lori is an active member of the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar, having served on its Executive Council since 2006. She also served as Chair of the Bankruptcy/UCC Committee and the Bankruptcy Judicial Liaison Committee. Currently, she is Vice Chair of the Membership Committee. Lori is also on the Board of the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association. She is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation. Lori is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell.
Lori is a graduate of the University of Florida (J.D., with honors, 1998), and received her Bachelor of Arts degree, with high honors, from Eckerd College in 1995.
She is admitted to practice in New York, Florida, and the District of Columbia. Additionally, Lori is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York, the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida, and the Eastern District of Michigan, as well as the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Eighth and Eleventh Circuits.
