Jacqueline Myles Crain joined the firm in February 2006 and practices in the area of health care law, advising clients on issues related to state and federal health care regulatory matters including compliance, patient privacy and reimbursement. She became a Shareholder of the firm in 2008. Prior to joining the firm, Jackie was with Holland & Knight, LLP. She is experienced in a variety of issues affecting hospitals, health systems, hospices and physician practices, including daily hospital operational issues, institutional review board and clinical research issues, Medicare and Medicaid regulatory work, registration and licensure for healthcare entities, Stark law, Anti-Kickback Statute, EMTALA and HIPAA compliance.
Jackie graduated cum laude from Florida State University in 1997. In 2001, she earned her M.B.A. and her J.D. cum laude from Stetson University College of Law, where she was the research editor of the Stetson Law Review and a teaching fellow.
Jackie is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She is a member of the American Bar Association, American Health Lawyers Association, The Florida Bar, and the St. Petersburg Bar Association. She is a past vice chair of the ABA Health Law Section’s eHealth, Privacy & Security Interest Group and a past chair of the ABA’s Young Lawyers Division Health Law Committee. She also serves as a member of the Florida Bar Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section's HIPAA Committee and has participated in the Florida Bar HIT Committee.
