Trenam Kemker’s Personal Injury Practice Group represents clients in medical negligence, motor vehicle accidents, premises or landowner's liability, products liability cases arising out of defective or unsafe products, nursing home and assisted living facility negligence, negligent security cases where one is injured by the criminal acts of third persons, and insurance coverage and related issues. We provide representation on a contingent fee basis and pay all the upfront costs for investigation, expert witnesses, exhibit presentation, depositions and discovery.
The Personal Injury Practice Group recovers lost wages, medical bills, future life care and medical care costs, property damage losses, out of pocket expenditures not covered by insurance, and damages for pain, suffering and lost capacity for the enjoyment of life due to permanent life altering injuries sustained. In some cases, recovery is also obtained for those losses due to the emotional or psychological effects of injuries. If there is a spouse, recovery is made for their losses and also for surviving spouses, children or parents for the wrongful death of a family member.
The attorneys in our group have represented plaintiffs for more than 20 years each and have recovered losses for clients who have sustained catastrophic or serious bodily injuries, including persons who have sustained permanent brain injuries, paralysis from quadriplegia or paraplegia, loss of limb, loss of eyesight, scarring, burns, death, injuries to the cervical and lumbar spine and other debilitating or disabling injuries that have a tragic or serious adverse effect on a person's livelihood, family and personal well being.
The attorneys in our Personal Injury Group also work in close conjunction with our attorneys in the Commercial Litigation Group, representing individual physicians, dentists and other professionals, and their entities, in defense of medical negligence claims, and represent public entities in defense of casualty claims such as motor vehicle accidents or negligence in the administration or performance of public duties, and defense of private companies and individuals in a variety of cases, such as premises liability and motor vehicle accidents.
The attorneys in our group also assist our Health Care and Commercial Litigation Groups in developing “litigation avoidance” strategies for their clients, and by consulting and lecturing on such strategies for those clients.
