Adam B. Brouillet Becomes a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States

02/04/2019 by Trenam News and Adam Brouillet

Trenam Law is pleased to announce that Adam B. Brouillet has become a certified information privacy professional in the United States (CIPP/US).

For more than 10 years, the CIPP has been recognized as the world’s preeminent credential in the business of privacy. Since its introduction in 2004, the CIPP has elevated the careers of thousands of professionals working in privacy and data protection across the globe. Professionals who become certified have a foundational understanding of broad global concepts of privacy and data protection law and practice, including: jurisdictional laws, regulations and enforcement models; essential privacy concepts and principals; legal requirements for handling and transferring data and more.

Brouillet, a Shareholder in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group, focuses his practice on data privacy, cybersecurity, and business litigation. Businesses of all sizes collect and store sensitive personal and payment information of their employees, customers, and clients. He advises clients on how to minimize risk and comply with laws governing information privacy and cybersecurity. Brouillet also advises on vendor relationships, insurance policies, and transactions from a data privacy and cybersecurity law standpoint. In the event of a data breach, He guides clients on what to do and how to comply with any applicable legal requirements. This may include retaining a forensic specialist under the attorney-client privilege, notifying affected individuals and other third parties if required by law, and defending lawsuits or regulatory proceedings arising from the data breach.

Brouillet also represents businesses in general commercial disputes, including contract disputes, landlord-tenant and real estate matters, employment disputes, factoring agreements, and federal and state debt collection laws. Adam represents clients in trial and appellate courts, mediation, and arbitration.

Brouillet received a J.D., cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law and undergraduate B.A., cum laude, from Florida Southern College.
