Lara Roeske Fernandez Appointed to The American Board of Certification’s Board of Directors
Trenam Law is pleased to announce that Shareholder Lara Roeske Fernandez has been appointed to American Board of Certification’s Board of Directors.
The American Board of Certification (ABC), sponsored by the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Commercial Law League of America, is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the public and improving the quality of the bankruptcy and creditors’ rights law bars. ABC has certified nearly 1,000 attorneys in consumer and business bankruptcy and creditor’s rights law nationwide. ABC certification serves the public by allowing potential clients to make an informed decision in choosing bankruptcy and creditors’ rights counsel. In addition, ABC certification encourages attorneys to strive toward excellence and recognizes those attorneys who have met the rigorous ABC standards. ABC offers separate certification programs in business bankruptcy, consumer bankruptcy and creditors’ rights law.
Fernandez, a board certified attorney in business bankruptcy, is the leader of the firm’s Bankruptcy, Creditors’ Rights & Insolvency Practice Group. She concentrates her practice in business reorganizations (debtor and creditor representation), trustee representation, bankruptcy litigation, commercial foreclosures and workouts, and loan modifications. Additionally, Fernandez has served as a Chapter 11 trustee and liquidation trustee. Fernandez is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, ranked by Chambers USA, and has been listed by Florida Super Lawyers since 2009 earning Top 50 Women Super Lawyers in 2016. Fernandez was recognized by The Tampa Bay Business Journal as Woman of the Year in 2016.
Fernandez is a member of the Divisional Advisory Board of Directors as Synovous Bank. She serves on the Local Rules Lawyers Advisory Committee for the United States Bankruptcy Court, Middle District of Florida. She is a member of the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, International Wormen’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation, The Florida Bar Business Law Section, and Hillsborough County Bar Association.
Fernandez received a J.D. from Emory University School of Law where she was Notes and Comments Editor of Emory Law Journal. She received a B.A. from Emory University.
