Overview

Greg Short is an associate in the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group.

While in law school, Greg gained practical litigation experience through various externships and clerkships, including securing a complete defense verdict in a civil jury trial as a Certified Legal Intern with The University of Alabama Civil Law Clinic. He also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Madeline Haikala of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Additionally, Greg competed nationally on both the Moot Court Board and the National Trial Team. Greg clerked during both of his summers in law school with a litigation boutique and a full-service Florida-based law firm. Greg also served as the Ethics Opinion Editor of the Journal of the Legal Profession.

He graduated with his B.S. in Political Science with a double major in Philosophy from Florida State University and earned his J.D. from The University of Alabama School of Law.

While not working, Greg enjoys recreational powerlifting, fishing, and science-fiction movies.

Representative Matters

  • Obtained a complete defense verdict for client in a three-day civil jury trial concerning claims of breach of fiduciary duty and conversion of $250,000 in personal injury settlement funds.
  • Successfully dissolved a preliminary injunction and obtained a stay for client in a business tort case brought by a multinational logistics company.
  • Secured a favorable settlement for a disabled homeowner providing low-income housing to veterans in a complex property and construction fraud dispute.
