Overview
Carter Pfost is an associate in the firm’s Private Client Services and Business Transactions Practice Groups. He graduated with his B.A. in History and Classics from Florida State University and earned his J.D. from The University of Alabama School of Law. Additionally, he has an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Carter’s practice has a strong foundation in tax law and estate planning. While in law school, Carter served as Senior Editor of the Law & Psychology Review, competed nationally with the Tax Moot Court Team, and advocated for clients in The University of Alabama’s Civil Law Clinic. He gained practical legal experience through internships with a U.S. District Court Chief Judge L. Scott Coogler in the Northern District of Alabama, and a Tampa-based litigation firm. His work has included drafting wills and advance directives, litigating fiduciary duty and contract claims, and contributing to legal research and judicial opinions on constitutional and civil rights issues.
Outside of work, Carter enjoys spending time with his wife and son, golfing, cooking, and reading. He is also an Eagle Scout.
