Overview

Peter Z. Skokos is a Shareholder in Trenam’s Real Estate and Lending Transactions Practice Group. He focuses his practice on real estate, banking, and business transactions, representing developers, landowners, and lenders in a wide range of commercial and residential matters. Peter advises clients on the acquisition, development, leasing, and sale of commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

He also represents national, regional, and local lenders in the preparation of loan documentation and the closing of commercial and residential loan transactions, as well as loan workout matters, including settlement agreements, deeds in lieu of foreclosure, and forbearance agreements.

Before joining Trenam, Peter practiced for many years at a prominent Sarasota law firm, where he advised clients on complex real estate, lending, and business transactions throughout the region.

Peter earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida State University in 1982, where he was a member of the Beta Alpha Psi Honorary Accounting Fraternity. Prior to attending law school, he worked with KPMG Peat Marwick and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1984. He later earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida in 1986.

Peter holds an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting the highest level of professional excellence and ethical standards. He is a member of The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section and the Sarasota County Bar Association.

Active in the community, Peter is a founding Board Member and CEO of Operation Patriot Support and a founding Board Member of the Sarasota Seminole Club. He also serves on the boards of the Gulf Coast CEO Forum and Sarasota Military Academy. His prior community leadership includes service as a Board Member of Peoples Community Bank, participation on the governmental affairs committee for the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance, and service on the boards of the Commercial Investment Division of the Sarasota-Manatee Realtors Association, the Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association, and the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corporation.
