Trenam Law is pleased to announce the addition of three attorneys in Tampa, including Kelsey Burgess in the Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights practice, Hayes Rule in the Business Transactions practice, and Carter Pfost in the Business Transactions and Private Client Services practices. These attorneys are key talent acquisitions for continuing to grow the firm and expand the capacity to service clients based on market need.

Burgess is an associate in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group. She advises debtors, secured and unsecured creditors and other interested parties in matters involving Chapter 11 bankruptcies, out-of-court workouts and related transactions. Burgess is also actively involved with the Central Florida Bankruptcy Law Association and previously served on the board of the Adult Literacy League of Central Florida.
Burgess earned her J.D. from University of Florida Levin College of Law and her B.S. from University of Central Florida.
Rule is an associate in the firm’s Business Transactions Practice Group. His practice primarily focuses on mergers and acquisitions, drafting contracts and other corporate documents, entity formation and performing due diligence on companies. Rule is an active contributor to the legal community as a member of the Sports Lawyers Association’s International Committee, and NextGen Committee. During his undergraduate studies, Rule played NCAA Division I golf and was a sports journalist.
Rule earned his J.D. from Florida State University and his B.A. from Mercer University.
Pfost is an associate in the firm’s Private Client Services and Business Transactions Practice Groups. His practice primarily focuses on estate, tax, and wealth transfer planning, estate and trust administration, and advising on tax-exempt organizations, tax classification elections for business formations, and tax structuring for business reorganizations. Pfost is an active contributor to the legal community as a member of the Florida Bar Tax Section and Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section.
Pfost earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law, an LL.M. in taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and a B.A. from Florida State University.
