Burgess has been selected to participate in Leadership Tampa Bay’s Class of 2027, a prestigious leadership development program that brings together emerging and established leaders from across the Tampa Bay region to strengthen their understanding of the area’s opportunities, challenges, and future.
Leadership Tampa Bay, a program of the Tampa Bay Chamber Foundation, is the nation’s third-oldest leadership program. Since its founding in 1970, the program has developed thousands of business and community leaders through an immersive curriculum focused on regional issues, civic engagement, and cross-sector collaboration. Participants gain firsthand insight into the industries, organizations, and initiatives shaping the future of Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties while building meaningful relationships with fellow leaders committed to advancing the Tampa Bay community.
With years of experience in bankruptcy law, Burgess advises debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, and other interested parties in Chapter 11 bankruptcies, out-of-court workouts, and related transactions. She also has experience in a broad range of commercial litigation matters, including creditors’ rights litigation and commercial foreclosures. Burgess earned her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Bankruptcy: Business (2025–2026). In 2025, she was also selected for the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges’ Next Generation (NextGen) Program, which recognizes emerging leaders in the bankruptcy profession. She most recently was selected to participate in Leadership Tampa Bay’s Class of 2027.
