TAMPA, FLA., November 13, 2025 – Trenam Law is pleased to announce the addition of six attorneys, including Anthony Marzocca joining the Tampa office as senior counsel in the Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group. Gregory Short, Audrey Carver, Christopher Pate and Stephanie Freeman also join the Tampa office as associates in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group and Garret Barnes joins the firm’s St. Petersburg office as part of the Real Estate and Lending Transactions Practice Group. These attorneys are key talent acquisitions for continuing to grow the firm and expand the capacity to service clients based on market need.

Anthony Marzocca
Marzocca is senior counsel in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group. He represents creditors, investors and private equity groups in business reorganizations, bankruptcy proceedings, commercial foreclosures and loan workouts. Prior to joining Trenam, Marzocca practiced at several prominent law firms in New York where he advised on high-profile restructurings, private capital transactions, and commercial litigation. He has experience with representing debtors, creditors, investors, and sponsors in complex Chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, and distressed transactions across a range of industries, including healthcare, retail, energy, and financial services.
Marzocca is also actively involved with the Florida Bar Business Law Section, Florida Bar Trial Lawyers Section, Florida Bar Young Lawyers Section and Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association.
He earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his B.S. from Duke University.
Audrey Carver
Carver is an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group. She rejoins Trenam after having served as a federal judicial law clerk for the Honorable Mary S. Scriven of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. While in law school, Audrey worked for Trenam as a summer associate and also served as a judicial intern for the United State District Court for the Middle District of Florida under the Honorable Mary S. Scriven, the Honorable Anthony E. Porcelli, and the Honorable Roberta A. Colton.
She earned her J.D. from The University of Alabama School of Law and her B.S. from Florida State University.
Gregory Short
Short is an associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group. While in law school, He gained practical litigation experience through various externships and clerkships, including securing a complete defense verdict in a civil jury trial as a Certified Legal Intern with The University of Alabama Civil Law Clinic. He also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Madeline Haikala of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Additionally, Short competed nationally on both the Moot Court Board and the National Trial Team. He clerked during both of his summers in law school with a litigation boutique and a full-service Florida-based law firm. Short also served as the Ethics Opinion Editor of the Journal of the Legal Profession. He is actively involved with the Florida Bar Business Law Section and Florida Bar Young Lawyers Section.
Short earned his J.D. from The University of Alabama School of Law and his B.S. from Florida State University.
Christopher Pate
Pate is an associate in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group. An experienced civil litigation attorney, Pate has represented individuals and companies in a broad range of disputes. He began his career practicing products liability and insurance defense, successfully representing aviation and other product manufacturers in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. Pate has also handled a wide array of personal injury and wrongful death claims, including vehicular tort and premises liability matters. Additionally, he has represented businesses as both plaintiff and defendant in complex commercial disputes and across all forms of dispute resolution and litigation.
Pate earned his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and his B.A. from Auburn University.
Stephanie Freeman
Freeman is an associate in the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group. While in law school, she gained valuable experience as a law clerk at an admiralty firm in Boston, Massachusetts. Freeman began her career practicing insurance defense, successfully defending a wide variety of construction and personal injury claims.

Garret Barnes
Barnes is an associate in the Real Estate and Lending Transactions Practice Group. He previously served as a summer associate at Trenam. Before beginning his legal career, Barnes gained experience with a national financial services institution managing complex real estate loan portfolios, underwriting new business opportunities, and supporting financing across residential, multifamily, and commercial projects.
He earned his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and his B.S. From Wake Forest University.
