Trenam Law is pleased to announce the addition of Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights attorney Almarosa Torres and Business Transactions attorney Joseph Metzger. These attorneys are the latest wave of key talent acquisitions as the firm continues to grow its bench across its Florida footprint.

Torres is an associate in the firm’s Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group. She has experience representing debtors, creditors, and liquidating agents in complex bankruptcy matters, including Chapter 11, Subchapter V, Chapter 7, and Chapter 13 proceedings, as well as related adversary proceedings. Torres has successfully confirmed both individual and commercial Chapter 11 plans. She also has experience in state court matters including the domestication of foreign judgments, post-judgment enforcement, defending contractual disputes and homestead issues.
Torres has contributed to the legal field beyond her practice as a member of the Florida Bar Business Law Section, member of the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association, member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and member of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation.
Torres earned her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, where she gained invaluable experience as a judicial extern in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida with the Honorable Roberta A. Colton.
Metzger is an associate in the firm’s Business Transactions Practice Group. He has experience representing investment banks, underwriters, and corporate issuers in commercial lending, high-yield offerings, and a broad range of capital markets transactions. Metzger has drafted documentation for leveraged loan facilities and offerings of debt and equity securities, including private placements and Rule 144A/Regulation S transactions, and has led due diligence teams on complex financial transactions. His background also includes work in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, SEC reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Metzger earned his J.D. from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and his B.A. from the College of Holy Cross.
