Trenam Law shareholder Stephanie Lieb was installed as Chair of the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar at The Florida Bar’s 75th Annual Convention in Boca Raton. The Business Law Section is comprised of legal professionals whose practices focus on corporate, securities, banking, business litigation, bankruptcy, computer and technology law, intellectual property, and related areas of law.
“Stephanie’s leadership and wise counsel, both professionally and civically, have earned her the reputation throughout Florida’s legal community as a go-to resource for guidance and perspective in the myriad of challenges businesses face,” said Nelson Castellano, Trenam’s managing shareholder. “She has a track record for identifying solutions across businesses’ complex legal needs, often in their most difficult moments. We are confident her guidance will be valuable to the Business Law Section and its role in advancing Florida’s commercial success.”
The Business Law Section (BLS) of The Florida Bar is comprised of more than 6,500 leaders in law and business, as well as federal and state court judges, and academics across Florida. Members span legal specialties related to business counsel and enjoy benefits of dedicated committees, networking opportunities, continuing legal education and more.
As Chair, Lieb will serve a one-year term presiding over all meetings of the Section, the Executive Committee and the Executive Council. She will also appoint chairs and vice-chairs of all section committees and task forces, and she will prepare all reports to be submitted to The Florida Bar. While serving as chair, Lieb is an ex-officio member of all Section committees and task forces.
At Trenam, Lieb serves as co-leader of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group. She is dedicated to solving problems for her clients in matters related to bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and real estate. Lieb is Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy law, a distinction held by fewer than 50 lawyers in the state of Florida. She is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified civil mediator, mediating bankruptcy contested matters and adversary proceedings, commercial foreclosures and replevin, commercial landlord-tenant disputes, as well as general real estate litigation.
Lieb is a recognized leader within the legal and professional community. In addition to this appointment, The Florida Bar Business Law Section also named her Member of the Year in 2022. She earned the prestigious appointment as Fellow to the American College of Bankruptcy in 2024 and she previously served on the boards for The American Board of Certification and the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association. Lieb has earned numerous distinctions at the local, state and national level, such as inclusion among Tampa Magazine’s Top Lawyers List, Florida Trend’s Legal Elite and the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 40 Under 40 (2018) and National Conference of Bankruptcy Judge’s “Next Generation” class in 2012.
In the community, Lieb has served roles on the finance committee for St. Joseph’s Hospital, as a trustee with the Hillsborough County Bar Foundation and on the board of trustees for Academy of the Holy Names.
Lieb earned her law degree from the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and her undergraduate degree from Tulane University.
